A New Kind of Technology Commercialization Firm

We Have Identified The Problem

From the simple to the complex, the technology transfer and commercialization process in the United States is a highly inefficient and fractured process, littered with complex and difficult to understand language, and championed by an assortment of institutions and firms working, in many ways, with different agendas.

In many cases, IP fails to be commercialized because of the following reasons:
  • lack of market exposure and finding the right licensing buyer
  • the business market need is not clearly identified
  • the technology has one or more complex issues to overcome
  • lack of funds to eliminate product risk (prototype) and assure technology meets regulatory standards
  • lack of funds to hire management teams, staff and advisors

  • The Solution: The MindForce Approach -- 100% Market-Focused Execution

MindForce approaches each assignment with the objective of finding the absolute best execution for our client and their IP opportunity. To do this, we bring together a strong team of business professionals for a client to form a specific IP Team. This team is charged with determining if it is best to find an exclusive licensee or multiple non-exclusive partners, or if it makes most sense to first build a viable business plan to spin out the IP into its own company structure, i.e. detaching it from the client.

We take a long-term partnership approach when establishing a new client relationship. Our success is reflected in the mutually profitable utilization of a client's IP. Our goal is not to be considered an opportunistic work-for-hire consulting firm, but rather to become a partner in unleashing the maximum value of our client's IP portfolio.

MindForce approaches technology commercialization from a business/market perspective.

      1) We have a core team of proven project leaders, many of whom combine the business savvy of MBAs with considerable technology expertise.

      2) We focus on 6 industry/IP areas: CleanTech/Energy/Alternative Energy/Sustainability, Advanced Materials/Nanotechnology, Life Sciences/Medical Devices/Healthcare, Internet/Web 2.0, Telecommunications/Media, and Social Ventures

      3) We have the talent reach to quickly assemble the "right" domain industry experts for building a IP Team for each IP. We also access the talent base of 18,000 experienced MBA GlobalNet members to bring domain industry experts to the team as appropriate.

      4) Our business-savvy IP Teams place an emphasis on the Unmet Market Need/Opportunity.

      5) Our consulting assignments are structured, with an emphasis on sharing the upside of what we create. Thus, MindForce MUST place 100% emphasis on the business opportunity to make this a worthwhile financial endeavor.

      6) Our marketing and analytical services concentrate solely on showcasing the commercialization applications and market potentials of each IP technology. We also closely look to see if starting a company is a viable option and, if so, we can assist in finding the management team, writing the business plan, and raising capital.

      7) For each technology, we create a business/market focused, easy to understand one page write-up, available if appropriate in the MBA GlobalNet's (our sister company) Entrepreneur Marketplace. We also create appropropriate sales packages.

      8) Every IP opportunity is unique. We, therefore, work with companies as a producer, similar to a software systems integrator. Our IP Team defines Point B (the IP's current state) and works with our client to seek the most appropriate exit, Point D. Point D is either the creation of a new company, if warranted, finding the best licensing partner, securing capital, or completing a strategic initiative.
